Control Systems

Control Systems

Physical system → model → simulation → controller → controlled response

Control engineering from the mechanical side: model a plant, simulate its dynamics, then design and test a controller on it, in MATLAB / Simulink and Python, and on hardware where a prototype exists. This is an area I am actively developing through simulation projects.

The control chain

How a controlled system is built

  1. PlantThe physical system: its mass, inertia, thermal capacity, actuators and sensors.
  2. ModelGoverning ODEs, transfer function or state-space form, with stated assumptions.
  3. SimulationOpen-loop response: step, impulse and frequency behaviour.
  4. ControllerPID or state feedback tuned against stability and performance targets.
  5. Controlled responseClosed-loop results, disturbance rejection and, where possible, hardware validation.

If a physical system needs to sense, decide and react, not just sit there, this is the lens I bring to it.
